On Deck

Here are some bands passing through the Windy City in the next few days, weeks.

Friday, April 11: Tapes 'n Tapes at Metro. This Minneapolis foursome rocked out with its debut, The Loon, and recently released its sophomore effort. Briefly heard four songs from the new album with marginal interest, but I would like to catch these guys live.

Tuesday, April 15: Tax Day. Go to hell, W!

Wednesday, April 16: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin at Empty Bottle. For all my years in Chicago, I still haven't been to the Bottle. That's a shame on my part. Wouldn't mind making my virgin trip to the revered indie music hall to hear this Missouri group, whose high-energy and endearing rock might make you forget about paying for a senseless war and occupation in the Middle East for at least one night.

Saturday, May 3: Drive-By Truckers at Metro. Hell and Yes. Saw these ass-kicking southerners at Park West last year for an acoustic set. Now comes the all-plugged-in steam train from Athens, Ga., where I went to college. Let's just say I'm ready for them to blow the snaps off my shirt and expose my soul.

i would suggest that you quit this blogging immediately. writing about these bands will surely draw unwanted attention to them, and will forcefully push them past the 'TwoCows' threshold of 11 total fans. if you like their music, and you want to continue to rock to them, i would cut it out immediately.
